In Vaihmalan Hovi one will get face to face with the historical mansion world. Its tastefully renovated facilities create a lovely milieu for family events as well as for business meetings.
The buildings go back to the beginning of the 20th century and originally the place used to be a retirement home. The intention is to renew all the buildings. The restaurant facilities have already been renovated and the old laundry cottage has been transformed into lake-by sauna with its fireplace and patio. The new hotel rooms will receive their first guests in February. The sauna of the main building will be finished during this spring, too.
Like on a honeymoon..
The rooms of Vaihmalan Hovi have been refurbished by different themes. One can fall a sleep in a Honeymoon-styled room, in a “rose garden” or in the”golden hat” room.
The owners plan to make new rooms in the attic of the main building. They are planning to make eight new rooms but the exact number of these rooms will be confirmed after the final sketches.
For especially children guests´ delightment, Vaihmalan Hovi has also two sheep: Liinu and Tiinu who absolutely love being pampered and scratched.

Diverse services
The lady of the house, Mrs. Seija Kivimäki says that the clientele is basically divided in two: business clients and family party planners. Also different associations arrange many events in Vaihmalan Hovi. One very special, and also surprising group, is the birdwatchers: they’ve been coming all away from France as the surrounding lake is known for its bird variety.
In addition to meal, accommodation and meeting services the customers will be indulged with activities: the golf course is only few steps away and the horse stall on the other side of the road. The clients can also do rapid floating, paddling or all-terrain vehicle safari. In the summer, Tampere-Hämeenlinna ship route will offer the clients nice lake cruises.
The day spa, next to the sauna department, will complete the service variety with its luxurious treatments.
Not afraid of the competition
Vaihmalan Hovi´s triumph is the unique milieu and personal service.
Mrs. Kivimäki says that Vaihmalan Hovi can offer memorable experiences in the busy every-day life. The clients will be pampered with an overall experience with the help of good food, activities and beautiful sceneries.
Work relaxes
I asked Mrs. Kivimäki, how she relaxes in the middle of the renovating process. The answer is clear: “Working”. And so it is: when the work is exciting, time flies.
However, if there is any spare time left, Mrs. Kivimäki can be seen in the golf course or skiing. And when the renovating project is finished, who knows? Maybe the old rollerblades will be used again in the summery roads of Lempäälä.
