A car inspection station to Lempäälä
Lempäälä´s services are growing: the new car inspection station will open in the week 49.
Until now it was necessary to travel to Tampere or Valkeakoski to get a car inspection, but now it is possible in Lempäälä, too. The grocery shopping can be made at the same time as the station will be situated right next to Ideapark.
Lempäälän Autokatsastus Oy is a company formed by three men: Janne Tallgren, Jukka Puranen and Janne Mäkinen. The men will now have a full service inspection station which offers e.g. vehicle registrations.
The men have earlier worked in Tampere as car inspectors so they have plenty of experience.
Jukka Puranen has the longest career and he has been inspecting cars for over 14 years.
Lempäälä is a good place for business
The men suspect that Lempäälä has enough customer potential. Most of the same sized municipalities and cities have their own inspection station. This station is also 100% Finnish. All the stations in Tampere are in foreign ownership. Also compatible prices and good opening hours are an advantage: station will serve its customers during weekdays from 9am to 6pm and on Saturdays 10am to 2 pm. Appointments can also be made out of schedule.
In Marjamäki, beside Ideapark
The men had been searching for a station for a long time. It was in general knowledge, that there is no station in Lempäälä and the other regional stations had long queues. When an oil company situated in Marjamäki suggested the station should be in the same property next to Ideapark, the men started their planning.
The location in Ideapark´s neighbour is a strength. Now it is possible to shop, eat and inspect the car – all at once. The upcoming “Arena” – the men´s world – is going to bring more clientele to the inspection centre as the Arena will include cars, motorcycles, yachts and boats.
Not anyone can be a car inspector
Nowadays an inspector is obligated to have a car engineer title. In addition, one has to have experience from car industry. Once enough experience, one can get into an inspector course which can be arranged, the nearest ones, in Helsinki or Turku. After the course, one gets to a station for a traineeship. Only after all this one can carry out the test and start as an official inspector.
It is necessary to keep up the know-how. Once a year is obligatory to proceed a course, and the final test needs to be done every three years.
Hobby or work
When I ask how an inspector really relaxes, the men are smiling: “Probably in the next couple of years it is not an option.” That is true. A new company surely has plenty of things to be done.
Tallgren, Puranen and Mäkinen are, however, extremely excited of their new project and this excitement will bring them good spirit – and hopefully lots of clients.
