When CEO Hannu Kallonen´s grandfather came to Lempäälä after the wars in 1948, he put up a sawmill and a planer. Hannu Kallonen´s father, Kalevi, worked in the company since its first day until he retired in 1989. As the product variety widened, they needed new premises for the family business and in the beginning of the 60´s they bought the plot where the company stands today.

Hannu Kallonen has worked in his grandfathers based company since the year 1977.
The main product of the company is wood, even though 50% of the income is based from iron and hardware business.
Lautanet Oy Ltd. has a variety of approximately 7.000 products so that the company could serve its clients as well as possible.
The customer service is the most important thing and the company takes gladly critics from their clientele. Lauta Oy Ltd. follows, as many companies today, the changes and the customers’ opinions.
New things are being developed continuously and the next big project is to expand the planer. The growing market in Lempäälä is a positive thing for Lauta Oy Ltd.
The good connections and being near Tampere are big advantages. Hannu Kallonen says that Marjamäki and Ideapark bring them more potential clients. They also buy the security services from Ideapark´s security company.

Kallonen thinks that people come easily to Lempäälä to live and there are more rental apartments than for instance in Tampere.
Lempäälä is a good package of many kinds of services and because of Ideapark; the services are growing all the time.
Tampere naturally brings the concept even more effective. The relationship between the municipality of Lempäälä and the entrepreneurs are very good for Kallonen´s opinion.
In his free time Hannu Kallonen likes to relax by the beautiful waters with a boat or a canoe. Even he only has one week vacation this year, he doesn’t mind as he likes his job enough. He has plans to enjoy the traditional summer theatres or even grab a bicycle – at least that is the goal for this summer.
