A local air-raid shelter is being built beside and under the Commercial City Ideapark.
The air-raid shelter will also have a function as a sports and leisure centre. This sports centre will include e.g. swimming hall and a ski tunnel.
This so-called “underground” is situated in the northern side of Ideapark and the constructions were started in autumn of 2007.
After the area will be finished, the main entrance to the sports centre will be right beside the northern entrance of Ideapark. There will be an elevator that takes the visitors down to the sports centre, which will open up in one floor.
Later on there will be a hotel, probably even 25-stores-high. The hotel would share the same entrance with the underground sports centre. The constructions of the hotel are scheduled to start in 2009.
